Cognitio Partnership Ltd have been supporting our two residential care homes since June 2023. This includes monthly visits as well as telephone support when needed. They have also supported the homes by conducting independent investigations and supported both the Registered managers in responding to safeguarding alerts as well as respond to emails of concern from CQC.

Right from the beginning they have worked alongside both managers and staff teams, putting them at ease and building a good and supportive relationship. They have provided external supervision, and invested time in the Managers CPD.

I have found them to be knowledgeable and responsive and have provided support outside normal working hours when required.

Audits, reports and action plans are coherent and realistic.

I would highly recommend them.

I have known Mr McDonald for over eight years and during this time have worked with him within three different organisations – this was as a result of me choosing to move to continue working with him.

Mr McDonald has a good balance of being able to command the authority required to undertake his job, whilst also being seen as fair, approachable and professional by the workforces he has managed. He is able to show direct (lead from the front) leadership skills when required, but is also very skilled in being able to adapt his leadership and management style depending upon the task in hand.

I’d like to leave a metaphor for how I see Maria from my time working with her- Maria is a top end 4wd of Directors, she can navigate the roughest of terrains and with a ‘go anywhere’ attitude, she can swiftly go through the gears and will steer any organisation towards its objectives. It rather feels like your on a motorway rather than rough ground and with this in mind, In actual fact it would be more accurate to describe her as a Rolls Royce in the healthcare field!

The role of a nominated individual is to oversee all regulated activities and service management, to ensure the safety of the service and that is well led and compliant with regulations and standards and that the correct governance and correct reporting authorities are kept. This is jus§t part. From my personal experience of Maria someone who is not only dedicated but has strong work ethic, integrity and not only a great manager but also a great leader. I have no doubt in her ability to not only acquire the role of a nominated individual but will serve this to the highest standard and expect the same from her peers.

Maria is one of the the most capable senior leaders I have worked with in over 30 years of senior leadership in health and social care. She is a valued driven leader who is passionate about making a difference for people and communities, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. At a time when health inequalities have come into stark focus during the pandemic, Maria has a range of skills that can help address issues of social injustice and inequalities.

She is strategically and tactically very astute, and is able to inspire and motivate colleagues at all levels within an organisation to deliver results. Gray healthcare is a company that continues to develop and grow (in such a short period of time). With this comes lot of changes, challenges and sometimes uncertainties.
